Political Parties are most comparable to majority of school students who dont study throughout the year and slog it out in the last moment to pass the examination. While this strategy works at times it can result in big failures as well. In a similar way, to be successful and to remain in power for a long time, political parties should start their election campaign from day one in office. This will reduce their last moment stress and also reduce the big expenses incurred in political campaigns.
I am sorry to divert a bit from financial topics into this. But the idea I am proposing below should lead to a great Indian economy in the long run. So I am not far away from the issue of finance and economics.
So how can political parties begin their campaign from day one in office?
Its surely not by big election speeches or debates. The best political campaign can happen in the most silent manner and also in the best way - By Performing and fulfilling all promises made.
If any party does this on a consistent basis for five years then they can relax before the next elections and also make their election campaign cost nil.
So the next question is what is the need of the hour for India and how can the party coming to power address these issues in a way which will make our country even bigger and better. I have listed few points below which I feel would lead to a better India five years down the line if religiously followed.
We are the ones to elect our country's decision makers. I think just like we do research on stocks to make a good investment decision we should research each individual candidate in our Constituency to select the best person for leading this country.
Political Parties on the other hand can use these strategies to campaign for next elections from day one in power.

I have listed few points below which I feel would lead to a better India five years down the line if religiously followed.
- India's Fiscal Deficits a big Issue? Strategy One - While the fiscal deficit seems to be a big issue now, in my opinion this problem can be easily solved through government selling stakes in public sector entities. There are big listed entities where stakes can be diluted and there are also unlisted entities which can go for IPO's. Some government entities are so huge that a big dilution of stake can drastically reduce the deficits by giving ample money in the hands of the government.
- India's Fiscal Deficits a big Issue?Strategy Two - The world is reeling under severe food crisis and in India more then 20% of the food crops are wasted every year due to lack ot proper storage facilities. If this amount of wasted food was instead exported it would make a huge impact on the deficits. I have not done any exact calculation but for sure it will have a big impact. Moreover this would be beneficial for farmers as well. So proper storage facilities need to be created to stop wastage of the most valuable thing on earth.
- India's Infrastructure, Will It Ever Improve? - Many big companies are reluctant to come to India due to bad infrastructure, many big investors are unwilling to invest because of the same reason. Big projects are announced but the conditions hardly seem to be improving. A really dedicated push towards infrastructure will lead to massive creation of jobs, it will lead to more foreign funds coming to India and it will also lead to fireign companies setting up their units in India (another big job creator). So one really dedicated move can impact the lives of millions of Indians. To then the political party concerned does not need to go and tell again to vote for them. The job is done.
- Why Cant Farmers also drive Mercedes? - Any growth that is not inclusive of the entire population is not great growth. India's agriculture sector employs over 50% of the Indian population, but contributes less then 20% of the GDP. Can't governments help improve this sector? Can't per hectare yields be improved (In India the per hectare yield is half of that in China). All this can be done with a bit of dedicated effort. New technologies can help farmers get better yields and hence earn more. New technologies will also help them cut on their slogging time. All this is not a big thing if a dedicated effort is put. Imagine if any political party changes the laggard Indian agriculture sector then they have more then 50% of the votes in their hands.
- Security - I am sure all blog readers and all political parties also will admit that terrorist are most after the United States then anyone else. Still, after the attack on WTC there has been not a single terrorist attack on American soil. I think this is what you call security. The same is what we also need. The politicians that we elect move in high security while the common citizens of the country are most unsafe. A political party which works in a dedicated manner to improve the security system is most welcome for all. I think if under a government there are no terrorist attacks in five years every citizen will vote for that party. We need someone like that.
- Education for all - Education is power. Government need to empower every citizen with this weapon.
- Not a Single thing aimed at Religious divide - If one billion Indians are united and move forward together then we can be the greatest nation in the world in the next 20-25 years. We need political parties to stress and work for unity.
We are the ones to elect our country's decision makers. I think just like we do research on stocks to make a good investment decision we should research each individual candidate in our Constituency to select the best person for leading this country.
Political Parties on the other hand can use these strategies to campaign for next elections from day one in power.
